NGS statement on social justice protests

Black lives matter.

We stand with those who are exercising their right to protest, demanding justice for the murder of black men and women at the hands of cops, and fighting for systemic change in this country.

It’s past time for us to say this:

We have work to do.

Right now, we are organizing and strategizing how best we can support the people that have been fighting this fight for years. It’s our responsibility to bolster them and their efforts. Be on the lookout for updates on how we plan to support — physically, financially, and more — in the coming days and weeks ahead.

We know that for many, a global pandemic and the resulting economic collapse have created financial hardships that are unprecedented. If you are able, we encourage you to donate to these organizations that are on the ground and working tirelessly to demand change:

IN MINNEAPOLIS
– Black Visions (organizing and mutual aid)
– Reclaim the Block (organizing)
– Minnesota Freedom Fund (bail funds for protestors)
– Unicorn Riot (on the ground independent media)

IN DETROIT
– Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ)
Detroit Justice Center

And just to make ourselves perfectly clear: NGS is dedicated to supporting our club and our community with vehement inclusion. We charge no membership dues and keep no membership rolls. We are anti-racism, anti-fascism, anti-sexism and anti-homophobia. This club and this community have no space for anything less.

Disagree? Fuck you.
